Before you specify a pressure regulator, know these 5 things.
Selecting the right regulator starts with understanding the application—not simply choosing a line size and pressure setting.

Before sizing or specifying a regulator, know:
1️⃣ Inlet pressure – Minimum, normal and maximum
2️⃣ Desired outlet pressure – And how tightly it needs to be maintained
3️⃣ Flow range – Minimum, normal and maximum flow all matter
4️⃣ Process media – Steam, water, air and gases behave differently
5️⃣ Temperature – An important factor in sizing and material selection
And don’t forget the details that can make or break regulator performance: available pressure drop, shutoff requirements, turndown and unusual process conditions.

The more complete the application data, the better the regulator can be matched to the job.
Save this checklist for your next pressure regulator application.
